In 2016, one in two French, working in the private sector, has gained more of 1789 euros net per month. According to INSEE, the average monthly wage in full-time equivalent of a person working in the private sector reached 2 238 euros net. It has increased by 0.5% in constant euros (after +1.1% in 2015), most markedly for the executive.

To the ends of the distribution, the 10% least well-paid, earning less than 1 189 euros per month (1st decile), while the 10 % best-paid receive over 3 euros 576 (9th decile).

This is essentially the French employees the highest paid who have benefited from the largest increases.Wages are rising a little more strongly at the top of the distribution in 2016, which slightly increases the wage gap continuing the trend of recent years. Thus, the 9th decile of the wage increases of 0.5% in 2016 and 5.0 % since 2008, while the 1st decile increased by 0.1 % in 2016 and 2.3% since 2008.

Excluding assisted contracts and professionalisation, the net wage in full-time equivalent (EQTP) of women is lower by 18.9 % on average to that of men. This gap continues to decrease, 0.3 percentage points in 2015 and by 3.4 percentage points compared to 2002.

The salary of the persons present 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2016 in the same establishment, or a little more than an employee of the private two, increases of 2.0% in constant euros. This increase reflects, in large part, career advancement, and gains seniority of this group, where the contracts of indeterminate duration, the men and full-time employees are over-represented.
