Île-de-France: Valérie Pécresse wants a bonus of 500 euros for the purchase of an electric bike

Triple the daily practice of cycling in the Île-de-France, this is the will of Valérie Pécresse by 2021. "The bike represents only 1.6% of trips," says the president of the region in the press release announcing the arrival of a new service, the rental of electric bikes long-term, Véligo Rental. To achieve this goal, the one who also chairs the Île-de-France Mobility, the organising authority for transport throughout the region, has announced that she will submit to a vote an aid of 500 euros for the purchase of an electric bike.

This help would be without any resource conditions. Each Resident, regardless of their income, can claim as of 20 February, the date on which the device should see the light of day. It will rise up to 50% of the purchase price of the new electric bike, but will not exceed 500 euros per bike and per applicant. This bonus to the purchase will be, moreover, combined with aid municipal already existing in other cities. "These offers are disparate in different cities," explains Valérie Pécresse. For example, the City of Paris already offered assistance subject to a ceiling of 400 euros, parisians will be able to receive 100 euros in addition to the share of the region. Conversely, the inhabitants of cities that do not offer a aid will benefit from the entirety of the premium.

Pécresse wants to "convert permanently" to the bike the ile-de-france

This offer will extend until the end of the month of June, or about four months, "or even a little more if the envelope of eur 12 million that will be vested is not yet empty, at this time, then," says the president of the region of the Paris .

If the announcement of this award comes at the same time as the launch of Véligo Rental, it is not for nothing. The users of this new service, pledging to keep their bike in six months, the first to enjoy it will make it in February, either at the time of the launch of the new premium. Valérie Pécresse says that it has decided "to put in place this massive aid to allow a maximum of ile-de-france (...) to permanently convert the bike after trying Véligo Rental".
