According to the observatory Clameur, who has studied the twenty largest cities of France, more of a big city in two (55 %) saw its rent evolve less rapidly than the inflation rate (1.8 %) in 2018. It is Montpellier, which displays the greatest decline in rents in the last year (- 1.8% to 14 €/m2 on average) to Nantes (- 0,6 % to 12.3 €/m2) and Strasbourg (- 0,6 % to 12.5 €/m2). We wanted to go further in analyzing the evolution of the rents of the small surfaces of the most sought-after investors, studios and 2-room apartments. Among the 50 cities of our exclusive leaderboard, only 22 (or 44 %) have seen the rent on their studios or their 2-parts, rewind or increase less quickly than inflation. In detail, the developments are quite disparate, and according to the typologies of apartments.
