The platform Uber is often a synonym for city journeys, professional or private, but also sometimes a certain melancholy, when it comes back from the station until home, after a weekend of countryside or sea... well, there's a novelty: Uber is now going to follow you on your vacation spot, in this case if you choose to go skiing in some resorts of the vercors massif during the month of February.

The company announced that it introduced a service UberSki, a chauffeur service VTC to fixed rate, which will provide a link between the railway station of Grenoble, and six alpine resorts, for the duration of the school holidays. Ski resorts served are the Alpe d'huez, Les deux Alpes, Chamrousse, Les Sept Laux, Villard-de-Lans and Alpe du Grand Serre.

UberSki will only be available during the winter holidays, from 9 February to 10 march inclusive, and will allow passengers to book a course conducted by a driver of VTC to reach their ski resort from the train station, or the reverse. The rates for shuttle service are lump-sum and will consist of the following:

•The Sept-Laux: flat rate of 45 euros

•Villard-de-Lans: flat rate of 45 euros

•Chamrousse: flat rate of 45 euros

•Alpe du Grand Serre: flat rate of 45 euros

•Alpe Huez: flat rate of 90 euros

•Les deux Alpes: package of 90 euros

Contacted by Le Figaro , the spokesperson of the company points out that Grenoble is the sixteenth French city in which it is implanted Uber, two weeks ago, and that it is "supporting local development" based on the high tourist season. "We want to support the activities of drivers while meeting the needs of leisure travelers," she continued, noting that a thirty drivers use for now the implementation in the city. Some drivers usually working in Lyon and using the application could also participate in the operation, and the cars will be of course equipped to tackle the mountain roads leading to the tracks.
