Jersey City man faces 10 years after heroin- and cocaine-dealing conviction

JERSEY CITY -- A Jersey City man will face up to 10 years in prison following his conviction last week of conspiring to distribute 50 bags of heroin and 50 vials of cocaine with the help of 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, authorities said.

Tyreef Robinson was found with the drugs when he was arrested on Woodlawn Avenue on July 12 and he was convicted on Thursday, Hudson County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Raymond Worrall said.

His co-defendant, Juwan Jenkins, 19, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school and was sentenced to probation, said Worrall, who did not disclose the status of the 17-year-old.

Robinson faces 10 years in prison with no chance of parole until after serving five years when he is sentenced on April 28 by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Martha Royster in the Hudson County Administration Building in Jersey City.

The case was prosecuted by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Lynne Seborowski.
