Woman charged with purchasing firearm for convicted felon

A Northwest Side woman was charged Thursday morning with illegally purchasing a weapon for a convicted felon, Chicago police said.

Johandra Falcon, 24, of the 2100 block of North Spaulding Avenue, was charged with one felony count of purchasing a firearm with intent, unlawful delivery of a firearm to a felon and filing a false report, police said.

Officials said Falcon made a false report that her residence was burglarized April 26, 2016, and that firearms were taken.

Chicago police detectives and ATF members discovered Falcon had used false information to purchase the weapons Jan. 19, 2016, and then delivered them to a felon, police said.

Falcon was arrested Wednesday in the 3900 block of North Newland Avenue. She was scheduled to appear Thursday afternoon at a bail hearing.
