The actor and synchronous speaker Wolfgang Völz is dead. He died already on Wednesday at age of 87 years, as German press Agency and Berlin Morning Post reported. Völz was one of most famous voice actors of German cinema and television.

Völz stood for more than 600 television and about 150 films in front of camera. In 1950s, he was initially active as a stage actor, before he became known throughout Germany as Lieutenant Mario de Monti aboard space ship Orion in mid-1960s as a space Patrol science fiction TV series. Later he was a butler in ARD crime series Graf Yoster gives himself honor and to see in Edgar Wallace film The Green Archer.

Until 2000s he was a busy actor, among ors in Wallace parodies of Wixxer and news from Wixxer. Especially in children he was known until very last for his role as captain of Cap'n Blaubär. He also dubbed prominent actors such as Walter Matthau, Peter Ustinov, Mel Brooks or Peter Falk with his distinctive voice.

Völz was born on August 16, 1930 in Gdansk. Already as a child he liked to play atre, but first made a baker's apprenticeship. Later he took acting lessons in Hannover and debuted in 1950 as a page in Schiller's Don Carlos at Landesater Hannover. In 1954 he joined Cabaret ensemble Porcupines in Berlin. In 1960s, his TV career began with guest appearances in two episodes of crime series Stahlnetz.
