Christmas meets them all again: family members, old classmates, long forgotten complexes. All this is probably called Homeland.

Homeland is a messy feeling. Not only since term has been completely tattereded by right-handed cartridges and inevitably ensuing zero debates, but before that. A whole growing up, you build up your own life, with people you choose, preferably in a city in which you feel comfortable, only to return to nest in Sauerland, to Brandenburg- Small town, or even worse, to Munich.

But Homeland is obliged, and so at latest on 23 December from a diffuse sense of duty of a nation all highways and trains are reliably clogged. At latest, if you crouching yourself somewhere on ground between first and second class, you ask yourself how to hold it for two, four or six hours. You swear that you only do this until you have children, but this is nonsense: driving home is a life sentence.

The somewhat sticky concept of homeland, of course, never means a snowy winter wonderland with loving relatives and a warm feeling of arriving. And even if it's beautiful and snowy, Homeland is also memory of Gaby from 7c, whose traits are mainly limited to torturing ir classmates and insisting on y in ir name, because that sounds "cool".

    One million Oboestunden

Homeland, this is not a medley of most beautiful childhood memories and merry family celebrations, in which one did not need candles, so much shone all eyes. Homeland, se are, above all, infinite, dreary afternoons, with wheel always circling same neighborhood, secret television, hassles for vacuuming and a million Oboestunden, oboe was always hated, in Peter and Wolf oboe plays role of duck, And that actually says everything about this instrument. And also about picture that parents probably had of one when y decided that oboe was a suitable instrument for one.

So you return home to a left-over reality, to small children's rooms, and sleep again under Schalke 04 bed linen. Cat hair is everywhere, because for some unknown reason Homeland is always full of cat hair, and everything is full of memory, so you don't even get along with this whole 2017 present. Why? From a sense of duty. Because of Christmas.
