The Internet dealer Amazon has started a kind of Uber for packages now also in Germany: self-employed persons are to take out orders in Berlin with their private car.

Self-employed can soon also deliver to Amazon packages in Berlin. Since today, Internet dealer recruits online agent for his program Amazon Flex. The 2015 delivery service, which was introduced in USA, will start in Germany for first time – in time for upcoming Christmas business. "We want to supply first customers in next few weeks," said an Amazon spokeswoman to Berlin Tagesspiegel. The service should initially be available only in capital city and later in or regions.

After Amazon's introduction, carrier should work independently and use ir own vehicle. Interested drivers can register on a website. There it is pointed out that one should not expect full-time activity. The available layers could vary from week to week and would not be guaranteed.

Potential package messengers must be of age and have a driver's license, a car and a smartphone. A four-hour delivery layer will be rewarded with up to 64 euros, promises Amazon. This maximum earnings would correspond to an hourly wage of 16 euros, which would be well above statutory minimum wage of 8.84 euros. The invitation to tender does not indicate wher Amazon will also be involved in maintenance costs for vehicles of private persons.

Amazon is already working with thousands of individuals in United States, United Kingdom and Singapore to deliver flex packages to Amazon.
