Demonstrators have protested against the appearance of Björn Höcke at the Frankfurt Book Fair. There were clashes with supporters of the Thuringian AfD chief.

During appearance of Thuringian AfD Country chief Björn Höcke at Frankfurt Book Fair, re have been tumultuous scenes between demonstrators and Höcke followers. Höcke participated in presentation of book "With Left Life" of Rechsgerichteten Antaeus-Verlag.

Protesters protested with banners and shouting like "Nazis out". Höckes followers turn chanted "Everyone hates Antifa". The police had to intervene unpretentiously. Later, a furr reading of two authors of extreme right-wing "Identitarian movement" was canceled due to loud protests.

The appearance of rights-oriented publishers at book Fair has already caused fierce debates in run-up to this. The Exchange Association of German Book trade, which organizes fair, justified admission of stands with freedom of expression and called for an "active debate". Antaeus and or publishers close to "New Right" are now accusing Stock Exchange Association of not protecting ir stands enough from left-wing activists. Previously unknown had also emptied joint state of philosophical tumult and Manuscriptum publishing house, which cooperated with it.

As early as day before, it had come to a violent attack at stand of justice-oriented weekly newspaper. At a reading, a listener injured publisher of Left Trikont Music publishing house with his fist on lip, as a fair spokeswoman confirmed. Thus, Trikont chief Achim Bergmann had previously accompanied reading with a commentary in passing. Thereupon listener attacked him. The publisher was treated in hospital and reported a criminal complaint.

In AfD, re are more voices in meantime to end Parteiaus closing procedure against Höcke. "The party owes him no expulsion, but recognition and gratitude," said Baden-Württemberg head of state Ralf Özkara mirror. Höcke has a "very decisive share" of AfD success in Bundestag election. His colleague from Saxony-Anhalt, André Poggenburg, also said: "It would be best for all involved to end this ordeal for AfD."
