German Film award: Golden Lola for 3 days in Quiberon

The Romy Schneider drama by Emily Atef has won most of the trophies at the 68 German Film award. The silver Lola went to 34; out of Nowhere 34;, bronze AT 34; Western 34;.

German Film award: Golden Lola for   3 days in Quiberon

The Romy-Schneider-Drama 3 days in Quiberon is great winner of 68 German film prize. The film by Emily Atef received Golden Lola as best film and six more trophies. Silver went to NSU thriller from Nothing of Fatih Akin and bronze to Western by Valeska Grisebach. The Lolas are most important award for German cinema.

3 days in Quiberon is about life of legendary actress Romy Schneider (1938-1982). The German-Iranian Atef received Lola for best director. As best Actress , Marie-Sapling was awarded for her portrayal of Romy Schneider. The Lola for Best female Supporting Role was awarded to Austrian Birgit Minichmayr, who plays Romy's girlfriend Hilde. The best male Supporting Role was awarded to Robert Gwisdek, who plays star-reporter Michael Jürgs in film. The drama also received prizes for Best Film music as well as for best camera/Picture design. It was with ten nominations as big favorite went into race.

Franz Rogowski received German award for Best male lead role for his portrayal in love story in corridors. In film by Thomas Stuben, he plays a young employee in a supermarket who falls in love with a colleague.

Furr awards were awarded:

  • The artist biography Beuys von Andres Veiel got Lola for best documentary.
  • Amelie has been honored as Best Children's film .
  • Erwin Prib (Manifesto) received German prize in category best scene picture.
  • Bina Daigeler (also Manifesto) was awarded Lola for best costume picture .
  • The Lola for best cut went to Stephan Krumbiegel and Olaf Voigtlander (Beuys).
  • In category Best Sound design, Eric Devulder, André Bendocchi-Alves and Martin Steyer were honored ( captain).

At beginning of award ceremony, president of German Film academy, Iris Berben, had said that long overdue debate on sexism and abuse of power in film industry must be conducted without Häme and exclusion. They oppose fact that men per se would be placed under general suspicion. But where re is intimidation and bullying, it must say, "Your time is over. Take some time off. " The culture Minister for Monika Grütters (CDU) also expressed a similar opinion: "We only have equal rights when artistic achievements of women are recognized as well as those of men."

The Lola was already sure of two prize winners in advance. The 78-year-old director, actor and author Hark Bohm (North Sea is Mordsee) was a Lola Honorary laureate and was awarded for Outstanding service to German film . The undoped Lola for Visitor's strongest German film of year went to Bora Dağtekin for comedy Fack Ju Göhte 3 with more than six million visitors. The first one sends award at Berlin Palais on radio tower from 10 pm.
