The journal 34; Neon 34; was once a successful magazine for young adults. For several years, the edition was back, now it was announced.

The news came as a surprise to staff of magazine Neon: On June 18th last issue of Monthly bulletin will be published, n it is discontinued, y learned on Wednesday. This was announced by editor-in-chief Ruth Fend on Neon website. The online edition should continue to appear for time being. For printed neon, however, " economic perspective is no longer available," Ruth Fend shared on magazine homepage.

According to media service Horizon, 20 employees are affected by closure. It would also not be possible to exclude business-related redundancies from publisher Gruner Jahr. Since 2011 Neon edition goes down: 2009 were sold even more than 235,000 copies, most recently it was still around 60,000. There was an indication of a possible end of printed edition in February of this year, when publisher announced that it would make neon online " most successful portal for Millennials". A few months later, print output now closes.

The target group of Neon was 20-to 30-year-old city-dwellers, especially students. "Those who have said goodbye are not enough younger ones," wrote editor-in-chief Ruth Fend now in farewell text. And: "Today's 20-year-olds have found new life companions, on magazine Shelf, but also on net."
