The editor and managing director Gabor Steingart listens to 34; Handelsblatt 34; Publisher Dieter von Holtzbrinck confirmed the separation.

The Handelsblatt editor and chairman of management board Gabor Steingart leaves publishing group Handelsblatt after seven years. Publishers Dieter von Holtzbrinck and Steingart have agreed to end "professional partnership", DvH Medien GmbH shared. The previous day, Spiegel had first reported online about separation.

In its communication "differences in fundamental corporate law issues" and "one – not in general, but in individual cases – DvH Medien GmbH called for different assessments of journalistic standards" as reasons for separation. Both sides wanted to maintain "friendly contact" and mutually a different form of cooperation in future.

Holtzbrinck spoke Steingart "highest respect and greatest gratitude", he had developed and renewed Handelsblatt and entire group "in a great way."

Holtzbrinck had also made editor-in-chief Steingart 2013 shareholder of Handelsblatt group. Many readers, he was known about his e-mail newsletter morning briefing. The Handelsblatt wants to continue format, for 700,000 subscribers will Steingart also write ir own newsletter. Chief editors and managing directors of publishing group criticized personnel decision.
