The Pilots Union Association Cockpit (VC) will speak for first time on Wednesday with representatives of Irish airline on working conditions of German Ryanair pilots. "There will refore be no strikes up to and including Wednesday," said a VC spokesman.

Already planned strikes in Ireland and Portugal on Wednesday were canceled, also re are talks with local trade unions. We now want to negotiate a collective agreement and expect solution-oriented and purposeful talks with low-cost airline, VC said: "Should negotiations only be a sham call, which only has aim of taking possible strikes up to Delaying Christmas, re will be a clear answer from pilots on this. " Work-downs would n be oretically possible at end of week.

For Germany pilots union had also announced strikes a few days ago, but did not mention an appointment. Only work-downs from 23 to 26 December were excluded.

There has never been a strike at Ryanair

Ryanair is criticized because low-cost airline employs its pilots as self-employed persons and does not give m, for example, a pay-off in case of sickness. As early as Friday, Ryanair had been in several European countries for fear of strikes and promised to recognise pilots ' unions for first time in history of company.

Company chief Michael O'Leary had previously refused to recognise trade unions as representatives of his employees. There has not been a single strike in 32-year history of company.

However, in September Ryanair had to announce failure of thousands of flights by March – officially because company had made mistakes in planning of pilots ' annual vacations. The trade unions n shared that many pilots had simply left company because of poor pay and poor working conditions.
