If you’re planning to take the southbound 101 Freeway through the San Fernando Valley overnight, you may need to make alternate plans.

That’s because Caltrans is scheduled to close a stretch of the busy highway in Sherman Oaks from Tuesday night to rush hour on Wednesday morning for maintenance work.

“SB full freeway closure midnite tonite to 5am Wed from 405 to Woodman Av in Sherman Oaks,” the state transportation agency tweeted at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday.

But in the unfortunate event that you get stuck in a possible backup because of the closure, don’t despair.

Caltrans says a “detour will be marked.”
