Resolutions: If already new beginning, then right!

You can stop smoking every day, or steal the pocket money from the child. But: it is entirely appropriate to start the new year with delusions of magnitude.

Now new year is already two days old, which is quite a lot for a year. Right now, benevolently appreciated, a third of all resolutions are not adhered to, broken, diluted or postponed with really undignified-flimsy excuses. And after only two days year looks just as dingy, frayed and wrong as past low in November. One lights up eighth cigarette of day (bye-bye, intent not to smoke), pushes third candy bar (ciao, intent sugar waiver) or second schnitzel bun (Adios, meatless), invites itself, Isjaauchschonegal, Instagram app again On cell phone (Pfiadi, social media diet) and hates himself properly from head to toe, as if re was anything else to help.

One is, you don't have to read this in newspaper, you know it best, a weak, worthless, spineless, depressed worm! Also 2018, just 2018. and stupid! Because you were actually so naïve to think that you could change something again! Because it was ridiculous to have made any resolutions! They may have even been written down, and y are now lurking, as a document of failure, at any time, if one should ever forget, at some point in this already completely fermented year, how despicable one is in truth. You really didn't even deserve very nice swear word "Nulpe". One is simply "Nüscht". So an overweight, unhealthy, unsocial Nüscht.

What nonsense!

As if resolutions were only worth something if y were to be complied with. You can stop smoking every day, eating meat or stealing your children's pocket money. You can start doing sports every day, learning Japanese, or "brushing your teeth" that everyone is talking about.

But only once a year do you pretend that everything is just going on, this whole messy life. Only once a year everything seems possible at once, and it is not just about "somehow furr", but about "how". This is touching and important and of course completely unbelievable. And it is simply unfair to measure intentions of reality. For once reality is to shut down and it is only about what is possible. Or suddenly seems possible.

The claims were wrong

If already new beginning, n right. Perhaps resolutions are always too small: perhaps for next year you should be able to fly at last or become Emperor of world.
Sometimes you just have to adjust resolutions on way to experience success. The BER may have taken a little too much to become an international giant airport. But as a monumental, oversized "Museum of failure" he is always good! Berliners like museums, anyway, rar than construction projects, and one could present in this museum all testimonies of failure, old love letters, discarded plans, never sent applications at NASA. The reality has not failed so much, claims were only wrong.

Intentions should not be cast for New Year's Eve leads and n for all time to serve as a judge of reality, but to be flexible. So maybe not vegetarians, but only two schnitzels a day. And perhaps it is not possible to take away fifteen kilos, but for that one is most softest and cosiest person in family, and that is after all a record!

It is entirely appropriate to start new year with delusions of magnitude. The Stuttgart railway station once thought that it would be "finished". In election, we all thought it would end in a "government." At end of day, we are all just torkelnde cell piles of space dust, that we even make ourselves ever to have a functioning government, is in itself a success! It would be quite atrocious if we were suddenly from one on or day non-smoking, vegan, sporty cell clusters, because what kind of good should we make next year? Less breathing to minimise CO2 emissions? Brushing your teeth while jogging? It is good that man takes things. It's just as good that he's failing. And it is most humane and touching of us at all, that we will try again next year. And believe in us again. And again. And again. To a new one. To a happy new.
