This year the federal government has created further jobs for refugees in Syria and neighbouring countries. The project will also improve the infrastructure.

This year Germany has created a furr 20,000 jobs for refugees in Syria and in region around country devastated by civil war. The jobs were created in wake of cash for Work program in crisis region, as world reports on Sunday. As a result, number of job opportunities financed by Germany as part of project will increase to around 80,000.

"We want to give back human dignity and a piece of self-determined life," said federal Development Minister Gerd Müller (CSU). "We cannot see how war in Syria is destroying an entire generation and making it a lost generation."

Müller had started cash for work programme last year to offer income opportunities on spot in short term. The offer is aimed at refugees, but also in needy inhabitants of communities that have received refugees. It should improve not only financial situation of people but also infrastructure.

Workers improve roads and schools or renovate apartments. In Syria, Germany is funding around 25,000 jobs for workers to help remove debris. Employees of program work in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey.

In Turkey and Jordan, report has financed salaries of a total of around 17,000 teachers and school staff. In Lebanon, some 8,700 young people were given opportunity to start vocational training. For cash-for-work programme, Müller 2017 a total of 230 million euros, so far 180 million euros have been made available for 2018.
