‘Flip or Flop’ Star Christina El Moussa Talks 'Dating Other People,' Divorce From Tarek

Christina El Moussa divulged new details on what was behind the split from husband Tarek, following the couple's divorce announcement late last year.

Both have starred in the popular HGTV series ‘Flip or Flop’ since it debuted in 2013. They announced their divorce in December. It has been almost one year since the pair secretly split up and Christina El Moussa turned to People Magazine to reveal what went wrong in her marriage after months of public speculation.

The trouble began long before the split, People reported in an exclusive Tuesday.

“Like any couple, we had our share of issues,” Christina told People. “But we went through a lot in a short amount of time.”

The same year of the show’s debut, Tarek underwent radiation treatment for thyroid cancer. At the same time, Christina was trying to get pregnant through in vitro fertilization. She suffered a miscarriage in 2014, but soon became pregnant with son Braydon, now 18 months. The reality television star recounted the difficulties of returning to work post-birth and that it “was too soon.”

It was then that difficulties between the couple began to mount.

“We weren’t able to properly communicate anymore,” Christina said of Tarek. “It got to the point where we weren’t even driving to the set together.”

The couple separated in May after an incident that involved a gun. Police reportedly responded to a call from the couple’s home in May after receiving news of a “…possibly suicidal man with a gun,” according to a “Good Morning America” segment. Tarek officially filed divorce Jan. 9. The couple share two kids – Braydon and Taylor, 6 – and they will continue to co-parent their children.

Moving forward, Christina said that the pair would move on: “[…] eventually we will be dating other people.”

HGTV said that “Flip or Flip” “…will continue production abrs scheduled,” according to “GMA.”
