Music notes: Say goodbye to Draft Week

The guys of the alternative rock band Draft Week have taken big steps from their starter years in southern DuPage County to playing some of Chicago's most celebrated venues. But after nearly nine years together, they're headlining their final show as a quartet Friday, Feb. 24, at the Metro. Catch the deep-rocking, blues-infused band one more time before saying "So long!" to Kevin McNamara, Chad DeLeon, Mike Zevin and Mike Plahm. Joining them are Sugar Free Guns, Scotch the Filmmaker, Namorado and The Prairie Fires. Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., Chicago. $12-$15. (773) 549-4140 or metrochicago.com. 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24

Satisfy your punk rock itch when Florida's native Against Me! hits Durty Nellie's Friday, Feb. 24. The band's lineups may have changed, and the sound might have morphed in the process, but the power of the protest-filled lyrics is still strong. Mobina Galore and Typesetter join the band on tour. Durty Nellie's 180 N. Smith St., Palatine. $20-$140. (847) 358-9150 or durtynellies.com. 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24

The Arcada Theatre highlights feisty southern Louisiana traditions when it hosts Cajun and zydeco artists Mojo and the Bayou Gypsies Friday, Feb. 24. Revolt Coda is 100 percent fun to watch. With two EPs available online and another due for the studio this summer, the band -- now in its third year jamming on local stages -- has a strong recording game. But the magic comes when they're in the spotlight. Zac Conforti, a former Naperville resident, channels pure rock power in his lead vocals, supported by Santino Carbonaro's front-and-center jamming on bass and Dallas Moreland's classic rock rhythms. And once Sal Rizzo straps on his guitar, he barely touches the ground with his gravity-defying moves. Catch the live show and their new songs (watch them play with the highs and lows of rock dynamics on "Sex Sells") when they headline at Joe's on Weed Street with Johnny Kilroy, Brandon James, The Giving Moon and Dina Bach. At Joe's on Weed Street, 940 W. Weed St., Chicago. $8. (312) 337-3486 or joesonweedst.com. 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23
