Two men charged in Akron home invasion robbery

AKRON, Ohio -- Two Akron men are charged in a Monday home invasion robbery in the city's Highland Park neighborhood, police said.

Lee C. Garrett, 27, and LaNair G. Parker, 26, are charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and possession of criminal tools in the incident on Stratford Avenue near Hurlburt Avenue, according to court records.

Their arraignments are scheduled Wednesday in Akron Municipal Court, records show.

The residents said two men in ski masks broke in through a back door just before midnight. One of the men had a gun, which investigators later determine was a BB gun, police said.

The men took a Sony PlayStation 4, two cellphones, a debit card and a backpack before leaving the house.

Officers arrested Garrett and Parker after spotting them near the intersection of West Market Street and Rhodes Avenue. Garrett and Parker were found in possession of the victim's property, a crowbar, a BB gun and ski masks, police said.
