In Austria 17 activists of the Identitarian movement are accused, among them their chief Martin Sellers. One of the accusations: formation of a criminal association.

Austria: Indictment against extreme right identitary

Ten leading representatives of extreme right-wing Identitarian movement in Austria (IBÖ) have to take responsibility for incitement and formation of a criminal association in court. The Public Prosecutor's Office Graz also brought charges for damage and coercion. In addition to leadership, seven sympathizers are also accused. All in all, re are 16 men and a woman, including head of movement, Martin Sellers.

Since its founding in 2012, IBÖ representatives tried to spread ir xenophobic ideology and equated Islam with Islamistischem terror, authority established its indictment. Most of members now accused were already involved in foundation of Association. "The representatives of IBÖ see cultural European identity threatened by multiculturalism, liberalism and Islamization," writes prosecutor.

The indictment mentions several actions by IBÖ to spread ir "foreign and anti-Islamic ideology." In April 2016 roof of House of Greens in Graz would have identitary a transparent one with slogan "Islamization kills". In June 2016 re was a xenophobic disturbance action at University of Klagenfurt. In March 2017, identitary at Turkish embassy Vienna would have hoisted a banner with slogan "Erdoğan Get your Turks ham!".

Last month, several raids were carried out at Identitarian, mainly in Graz. IBÖ 's chief sellers were also affected. In recent years, 29-year-old has been known, among or things, by actions aimed at admission of asylum seekers in Austria.

The identitary movement is active in several European countries, including in Germany. Here it is observed by protection of Constitution.
