The federal police have been raiding a gang of smugglers throughout Germany. The suspects are supposed to have arranged to enter Germany via Poland.

A large contingent of federal police and Polish border guards went through searches against a Polish-Syrian smuggler gang. In nationwide mission two arrest warrants and 15 search warrants were enforced, federal police said with Pirna. 170 officials were involved in operation.

The accused are accused of having introduced Syrian nationals to Germany via Poland. They were to use false information to sneak Polish tourist visas and allow illegal entry by plane. After that, people were brought by land to Germany, where y made asylum applications. For smuggling, about 8,000 euros were required per person – more than 300,000 euros are supposed to have earned suspects.

In addition to accusations of smuggling, some members of family association with Syrian ancestry and Polish citizenship are also accused of having registered as politically persecuted asylum seekers under false personalities in Germany.

According to federal police, numerous evidence has been secured in missions, among m mobile phones and storage media. The raids took place in Berlin, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Bavaria, Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony, Baden-Württemberg and Saarland. At same time as searches in Germany, access was also made in Poland.
