In norrn Nigeria, armed people have abducted a German employee from a Nigerian construction company. According to country's police, he was kidnapped in a suburb of city of Kano in state of same name. The Foreign Office did not want to comment on incident.

Five unknowns would have ambushed vehicle, with worker being brought to a construction site, police told. A police officer of escort was killed in shootout. The police started search for abducted German.
