NSU Committee: Ex-v man donated part of his fee to the NSU

According to former V-man Tino Brandt, Thuringian constitutional protection indirectly co-financed NSU. Before Committee of inquiry in Stuttgart Landtag, Brandt said that he had received money for his work as a V-man, which he had partly donated to terrorist group. This was done with knowledge of office, says Brandt, according to Stuttgart newspaper. The Committee investigates possible connections between National Socialist Underground (NSU) and Baden-Württemberg.

In 1990s Brandt had built up neo-camaraderie of Thuringian Homeland Security, in which NSU-trio Uwe Böhnhardt, Uwe Mundless and Beate Zschäpe also moved. He worked as a snitch for protection of Constitution until he was uncloaked 2001. Brandt is currently in custody because of child abuse in Thuringia and was demonstrated in ankle restraints.

Letter to Chairman of Committee

The NSU is attributable to ten murders from 2000 to 2007 – to small entrepreneurs of foreign origin and to police officer Michèle Kiesewetter in Heilbronn.

Before start of meeting re was a police mission in morning: according to committee chief Wolfgang Drexler (SPD), a threatening letter was received against Committee of Inquiry and against him. Drexler did not want to comment on concrete content of letter because of ongoing investigations.

Even a loaded witness has apparently been threatened: a former leader of Neo in Rudolstadt (Thuringia), according to Stuttgart newspaper and Stuttgarter Nachrichten, found cartridge of a weapon in its vicinity. The witness had reported ill and is now expected to be questioned on 5 March, said Drexler.

In response to threats, police have tightened controls at entrance of Landtag. In addition, underground car park was locked and searched.
