Friends, acquaintances, former classmates and teachers have commented on alleged gunman at a school in Florida. The 19-year-old Nikolas C. Had triggered a high-school fire alarm, according to findings of investigators on Wednesday. When students poured into hallways, he shot m with a semi-automatic weapon and killed 17 of m.

Now details about adolescent are published. Not all of m are officially confirmed or verified, much is due to memories of neighbors or relatives. The mayor of Broward County, Beam Furr, told television channel CNN that suspect had been temporarily treated in a psychiatric clinic, but had not been re for more than a year.

Contacts with racist groups

Nicholas C. is said to have been close to racist militia "Republic of Florida" (ROF), as a spokesman for group of Civil rights organization Anti-Defamation league communicated. The suspect should have participated in paramilitary trainings of group. The spokesman did not say wher he was a ROF member himself.

The ROF is known as "Armed forces of Transitional Government of Republic of Florida" and as a white civil rights movement. His militia has set itself goal of making Florida its own white Ethnostaat, spokesman said. On homepage of ROF question "Are you violent?" is answered with "Short answer: yes".

Difficult family conditions

The mor of suspects, Lynda C., died of pneumonia on November 1, according to Sun-Sentinel, reported neighbors, friends and family members. She had adopted Nikolas and his bror Zachary toger with her husband. He died a heart attack a few years ago.

After death of mor, two boys would have lived with a friend of family, portrayed a family member. The suspect did not like it re, and he was drawn to a friend's family. According to lawyer of this family, latter knew that C. Had a weapon of type AR-15, but made sure that he locked rifle in a cupboard. The suspects, however, had a key to it.

Suspect should be noticed in school

The District school Robert Runcie said he was not aware that C. had threatened school. A teacher, on or hand, reported to Miami Herald that Nikolas could have been identified as a potential threat. The mamatics teacher Jim Gard said that teenager had been in his class last year and he thought school had warned teachers in an e-mail that C. Should not be left with a backpack on school grounds.

Similarly vague is what fellow students portray. The 17-year-old Victoria Olvera, for example, said that C. was expelled from school last year after a fight with new friend of his ex-girlfriend. The suspects abused his girlfriend.

Investigators investigated, among or things, publications of suspects in social networks. A disciple who escaped in attack said he had recognized c. For a picture on Instagram, where he posed with a gun in front of his face. He remembered him as a shy pupil. "He was this strange child that one sees... like a loner," said witness.

Patriotic attitude

An old-time colleague said that C. Had once been close friends. After school reference, however, he had not seen him for more than a year. "He began to become increasingly somewhat stranger," he said about suspects. He spoke on Instagram about killing animals and talked about having to aim in his garden with an air rifle.

Or peers who believe C. Know him a patriotic attitude. An Instagram photo shows him with a cap with Trump saying: "Make America Great Again". He is said to have known Muslims as terrorists.
