In case of poisonous attack on Russian ex-agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, organization for a ban on chemical weapons (OPCW) rejected Russian representation, according to which a different poison was also used as a Nowitschok. "There was no or chemical that was identified by labs," said OPCW chief Ahmet Üzümcü.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had stated that a Swiss laboratory in samples also discovered neurotoxin produced in west. The OPCW chief said that BZ had found himself in a control sample. Such samples would send OPCW to laboratories according to ir standard procedure in order to check quality of examination methods.
