FDP: Lindner laments lack of support from Merkel

FDP chief Christian Lindner has jointly blamed behaviour of Greens and Chancellor for failure of Jamaica probes. While Greens would have made unification proposals at expense of FDP, FDP of Angela Merkel "has received virtually no support for our compromise proposals," said Lindner, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Without Greens, re would have been a coalition, if re had been a black-yellow majority, FDP chief said furr.

The FDP chief criticizes disadvantage of his party in negotiations. As an example, he mentioned that Angela Merkel dissolved a compromise found between Union and FDP on last evening of probes in order to meet Greens. "That was symptomatic of probing," he said of FAZ.

Lindner also disagreed with criticism that FDP had ended probes without warning and completely surprisingly for or Jamaican parties. "Because our doubts about prospects for success of our probing were visible throughout time," he said. Since last Thursday night, he has made it clear with every additional hour that likelihood of an agreement is declining.

In addition, Lindner spoke out to try again Education EinerJamaika Coalition. A new start in format makes no sense. He refuses to accept a minority government, says Lindner only that FDP is not afraid of it. "We're waiting for what's to come."

Greens satisfied with ir own compromises

The Greens also reject a minority government, because majorities are too uncertain. "That's why I think it's most likely to be a reelection," said Green Bundestag group leader Katrin Göring-Eckardt on Spiegel Online. She criticized, however, that FDP and Lindner hoped for a benefit for ir party from elections. The option to let Jamaica fail, "obviously was always on table for him." The FDP had to get out of point at which it received most.

Göring-Eckardt and her co-boss Cem Özdemir want to compete again as duo in a new election. It rejected criticism of broad compromises of Greens, such as limitation of migration. The party maintained its principles and at same time made compromises. " Neverless, Green Bundestag group leader admitted, "I suffered as a female in morning I thought about it."

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has received Greens and FDP chief for discussions on furr action on Tuesday. Nothing is known about content of talks. On Wednesday, Steinmeier meets CSU chairman and Bavarian minister-President Horst Seehofer and President of Constitutional Court, Andreas Voßkuhle. On Thursday he continues series of contacts with SPD head Martin Schulz and with Bundestag president Wolfgang Schäuble (CDU). The aim is to find a way out of political deadlock after negotiations between Union, FDP and Greens have burst into formation of a coalition.

Steinmeier must propose to Bundestag a candidate or a candidate to elect Chancellor. After a third round of voting, in which simple majority is sufficient, it must decide, in accordance with article 63 of Basic Law, wher to appoint n elected and thus bring a minority government on road, or to set up elections within 60 days.
