The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) has in past been separated from several interpreters for violating obligation to neutrality. The authority did not cite an exact number. According to Federal Ministry, only 2017 cooperation with 30 interpreters "was terminated due to violations of code of conduct". This is a response from ministry to a question from left in Bundestag.

In addition, 2017 and 2018 or 2,100 interpreters were exempted in course of an extended quality assurance concept of operations for bamf, answer says. Interpreters who want to work for Federal office must prove a C1 language certificate for German language in most common target languages since summer of 2017.
