Every day a new message, and usually a good one: it almost belittles, so quickly political situation in Korea changes. Kim Jong Un, ruler in north, now wants to expose nuclear tests and rocket testing. So he announced it in Pyongyang in front of Central Committee of Workers ' Party. North Korea's nuclear program is complete. Now country can turn to economic modernisation.

Kim continues his charm offensive, which began with his New Year's speech. At that time he announced participation of North Korea in Olympic Winter Games in south. At same time, Seoul and Pyongyang held political talks so successful that next Friday Kim and South Korea's president, Moon Jae, will meet at a summit in border town Panmunjeom.

In meantime, Kim has also visited Beijing, it was his first trip abroad. Step by step, it liberates itself from isolation in which country has brought itself with its aggressive armament and an economic policy striving for self-sufficiency.

Crowning policy of new openness is a summit meeting with US President Donald Trump in early June. For Kim, it would be a diplomatic triumph: neir his far nor his grandfar managed to meet a reigning American president. This has long been highest goal of North Korea's foreign policy: talks with United States of America from equal to equal, with recognition of its own regime and guarantee of its security.

It is hard to believe that this is what young, inexperienced Kim Jong-un should be able to do, that Trump was mocked last fall as "little Rocket Man" and that he threatened United Nations with "total destruction" of his country.

Why is Kim suddenly ready for dialogue?

How can it be explained that North Korea has suddenly declared itself ready for dialogue and even for abandonment of its nuclear weapons? Three reasons are probably crucial.

For one, UN Security Council has always imposed new sanctions on North Korea since 2006. In meantime, y are almost equal to an economic blockade, especially since China, North Korea's most important trading partner, which almost completely implements decisions. The sanctions are literally tying up air of North Korea.

Secondly, Donald Trump has built up a truly threatening war scene. Plan games of Pentagon, exercises of special units, laying of strategic bombers in region, regime in Pyongyang had to believe that American president was serious with his announcement that nuclear disarmament of North Korea, if necessary, Force.

A war would devastate not only north of country, but also south. And here comes third reason for unexpected turn in conflict over North Korean nuclear program into play. South Korea's new liberal president, Moon Jae, in office since May 2017, has been insistently campaigning for a dialogue with north from outset. Kim Jong Un ignored his offers at first, and Donald Trump even criticized m as "Appeasement". But Moon opened conversation channels that proved to be beneficial.
