The Union and SPD have postponed ir dispute over advertising ban for abortion. "The SPD Bundestag group will not put its draft law on clause 291a of Penal Code to vote now," it says in a concerted statement by Union Bundestag Group chief Volker Kauder (CDU), SPD Bundestag group leader Andrea Nahles (SPD) and CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt. The federal government was asked to examine possibilities of a solution and to present a proposal.

The opposition parties criticise withdrawal. The Green MEP Ulle Schauws described step as "knee of SPD before Union".
