Syria war: Israel calls for aircraft launch UN Security Council

After launch of an Israeli fighter aircraft in Syria, Israel's government has called on UN Security Council. According to will of Israel, Panel is to condemn alleged dispatch of a drone into its airspace by Iran, which had preceded launch.

Israeli UN ambassador Danny Danon said, "All our warnings about Iran have proven to be correct." Violations of one's own sovereignty will not tolerate his country. The World Security Council must condemn Iranian approach and "put an immediate end to Iranian provocations," said Danon.

Israel has shot down drone according to its own data after it has invaded Israeli airspace. The Iranian post in Syria, from which drone was to be launched, was also destroyed. The Syrian military and its allies rejected Israeli representation that drone had violated Israeli airspace. Iran denied to have used a corresponding drone.

The Israeli leadership fears a growing influence of Iran in Syrian civil war country. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel wants peace, "but we will continue to defend ourselves resolutely against any attack on us and against any attempt by Iran to anchor militarily in Syria or elsewhere." According to his office, Netanyahu said, "Iran wants to use Syrian territory to attack Israel with declared goal of destroying Israel."

The Prime Minister furr said that he had made a telephone call in view of escalation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. He agreed with Putin that Israel's military coordination will continue with Russia. Russia supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but talks regularly with Israel.
