The US Senate has approved appointment of controversial candidate Gina Reel to new head of CIA intelligence agency. The 61-year-old, nominated by President Donald Trump, received a majority vote in Washington and can thus take over leadership of CIA.

Against reels nomination, re had been considerable reservations in Senate because it was involved in a US program in which terror suspects were put into secret prisons abroad and were interrogated re with torture methods.

Reel defends earlier action
