Two men were seriously wounded during an altercation that ended with the men stabbing each other, Chicago police said. 

About 1:50 a.m. Monday, the men were inside a home in the 3100 block of West Madison Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood when they became involved in an altercation. 

At some point during the incident, a 33-year-old man and a 37-year-old man stabbed each other, police said. 

The younger man was stabbed in the chest and stomach. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. 

The 37-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach. He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital. 

The incident remains under investigation.
