Toronto Blue Jays late game specialist Jordan Romano has been invited to play in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Sunday.

The 29-year-old gunner, along with pitchers Devin Williams (Milwaukee Brewers) and Liam Hendrick (Chicago White Sox) received late invites as they will replace Gerrit Cole, Max Fried and Justin Verlander. These three athletes have withdrawn from Tuesday night's major league event.
Heading into today's clash against the Kansas City Royals, Romano was 3-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 34 appearances on the mound. He also recorded 19 saves.
This will be the first all-star appearance for the native of Markham, Ont. He will be accompanied there by his teammates Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Alejandro Kirk, George Springer, Santiago Espinal and Alek Manoah.
