Türkiye's CPI moderated to 50.5% in March

The year-on-year inflation rate in Turkey stood at 50.51% last March, compared with 55.18% in February, which represents the fifth consecutive drop in the price index, according to data published by the Statistical Institute. Turkish (Turkstat).

Thus, the moving average of inflation in the last twelve months stood at 70.20%, compared to 71.83% in February and 72.45% in January.

In monthly terms, the Turkish CPI rose 2.29%, thus moderating from the monthly rise of 3.15% in February and 6.65% in January. In March 2022 the monthly increase in prices was 5.46%.

In the third month of 2023, the smallest annual increase in prices was 17.27% in clothing and footwear, as well as in transport, with a year-on-year increase of 28.71%.

For its part, the greatest interannual increase was that of hotels and restaurants, with 70.73%, while the cost of the health sector increased by 67.89%.
