Europe needs to prepare for a second wave of the novel coronavirus, has warned the director of the european Centre prevention and control (ECDC), Andrea Ammon, at a time when many countries have initiated a déconfinement.
The question is not whether there will be a new wave of contamination, but "when and of what magnitude," she said in an interview published on Thursday by the british daily 'The Guardian'. "The virus is all around us, circulating, much more than in January and February," she added, noting that the figures on population immunity were not encouraging : "85 % to 90%," remain exposed to the disease Covid-19.
