Burundi has confirmed, through the voice of the president of the Senate, Reverien Ndikuriyo, the pardon and financial compensation – of the order of 43 billion dollars (36 billion euros) – for the wrongs done by the colonists, the germans and the belgians during the period from 1896 to 1962, reported on Friday the news agency economic Bloomberg.
The Burundi, headed by the president, Évariste Ndashyimiye, also hope that Brussels and Berlin return of the archives and objects "stolen" during the same period, said on Thursday Mr. Ndikuriyo in front of the senators gathered in the new political capital of the country, Gitega (centre).
