The Kremlin said Bill O’Reilly’s comments about Vladimir Putin being “a killer” are “unacceptable” and it wants an apology from Fox News.

“We consider such words from the Fox TV company to be unacceptable and insulting, and honestly speaking, we would prefer to get an apology from such a respected TV company,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

O’Reilly made the comment during a pre-Super Bowl interview with President Trump when they were discussing the Russian leader.

Trump said he “respected” Putin, leading O’Reilly to press him further.

“But he’s a killer,” the Fox News host said.

“There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?” Trump replied.

Fox News did not immediately comment.
