The demonstration was held at Cal Anderson Park and started at about 10: 30 a.m. Crowds were expected to rally through noon.

Organizers said the rally was in response to President Donald Trump's "attack on marginalized and oppressed people across the broad spectrum of humanity."

More than 1,00 people signed up to attend the rally on the event's Facebook page. Close to 7,000 people expressed interest in the rally.
