San Antonio police are responding to a hostage situation on the city's South Side.

Police responded to the hostage situation around 6:40 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of South Zarzamora Street, just a few blocks away from Storm Elementary School.

It is unclear how the situation began, and how many hostages are being held.
