Hydro Ottawa began the final stage of repair work on the isolated outages that still persist on Saturday.
“The work that remains to be done is complex due to debris still on the ground, downed branches and trees or damage to customer-owned electrical equipment. If customers find that their electrical installation is damaged (e.g. service mast, meter socket or cables between the meter socket and the electrical panel inside the house), they may need to have the damage repaired. to components that belong to them before Hydro Ottawa can reconnect the power,” explained the company, adding that in some cases, it is possible that temporary repairs will be authorized to speed up the restoration of electricity service.
A Hydro One spokesman, Richard Francella, said some people living in remote areas of rural eastern Ontario could wait weeks for power to be restored after last Saturday's devastating and deadly storm. , reported CTV News.
“We anticipate customers in rural, remote and island areas where you need specialist equipment like boats and helicopters, in the Perth and Bancroft areas we anticipate these customers will be without power for several days,” Mr. Francella explained.
