21% of the rooms in shared flats are rented in less than 24 hours, according to idealista

MADRID, 7 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

21% of the rooms in a shared apartment that were rented through idealista during the month of October had not even been on the market for 24 hours, according to a study published this Wednesday by the real estate portal.

Almería registers the highest percentage, with 36% of October operations closed in less than 24 hours, followed by Granada, with 31%; Alicante, 28%; and Malaga and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, both with 27%.

Other markets such as Barcelona, San Sebastián, Palma, Madrid, Valencia, Valladolid and Seville, are also above the national average.

The lowest figure was recorded in Zaragoza, where only 9% of the rooms in shared flats offered through idealista were rented in less than 24 hours. In Córdoba and Bilbao, this percentage was 11%, followed by 12% in Salamanca. In Pamplona, La Coruña and Murcia, 19% of the rooms on offer were rented in less than a day.

Idealista's spokesperson, Francisco Iñareta, explains in a statement that "the market for rooms for rent in shared flats is closely linked to the market for rental housing."

"There are many people looking and few rooms available. It generates anxiety among tenants, who have to undergo authentic 'castings' in competition with dozens of people equally or better qualified than them and the most vulnerable profiles are the first to be discarded," warns Iñareta .

The idealista spokesperson believes that this trend will continue throughout 2023.
