This summer, it is possible to go on a riverboat to discover the magnificent Lac Taureau aboard an all-glass boat called Le Saindon. Three different cruises are offered by the Matawinie Regional Parks Society, departing from Saint-Michel-des-Saints. One of them allows vacationers to discover the history of Saint-Ignace-du-Lac, a village that was flooded and engulfed when the Taureau reservoir was created in 1931. The other options? Outings at sunset or to the Lac Taureau dam.

A must in Lanaudière, the La Source Bains Nordiques spa has been offering moments of relaxation and rejuvenation to its visitors since 2007. But it recently inaugurated new facilities with a modern and refined look: a new dry sauna, a new changing room, a new reception largely glazed and a new bistro, where local products are always put forward. Located on the mountainside, the spa also includes outdoor whirlpools, a waterfall and Nordic pools, a eucalyptus steam bath, natural springs and a meditation path. Various therapeutic massages are also offered.

In the heart of Lanaudière, in Saint-Calixte, the new “Night-Boxes” are small original accommodations made from containers, which promise luxurious glamping stays. The units are fully equipped (beds, kitchenette, drinking water, dry toilet, wood stove and BBQ) and allow true immersion in nature. The Night-Box mini-chalets are six in number at the moment and they are located on the 45 Degrés Nord event site, which notably hosts extreme races and festivals, in the heart of nature.
