Air France is struggling to reorganize in Corsica

Air France just to go from red to green in Corsica. The draft voluntary redundancy plan, presented in mid-may by the management of the company, target the home network. Corsica is particularly affected, with 104 positions to remove 50 to Ajaccio and both to Bastia, or one-third of the workforce on the island of Beauty.

The financial situation is locally very tense. Air France will again this year heavy losses in Corsica. For a turnover of approximately 40 million euros on the island, the company habs displayed a loss of approximately 12 million euros. This is in spite of the 78 million euros paid in 2018 by the Office des transports de la Corse, Air France and Air Corsica within the framework of the delegation of public service ; these links between the island and the mainland, offered at a discounted rate for the inhabitants, are expensive.
