In the calanques of Marseille, a vast operation of cleaning way Harry Potter

Sunday, 6 October, at the heart of the calanques in marseilles, the garbage bags will replace the wands. On the model of the film Harry Potter and the goblet of Fire, the fourth installment of the saga of the sorcerer the most famous in the world, the collective Clean My Creeks will hold its Cup... Waste. The goal? Four teams, representing the four houses of the fictional Harry Potter, will compete for more than three hours, cleaning the creeks. The victory will go to the one who has collected the most waste.

"We will play the game until the end, it will be disguised and there will be prizes to be won," says the Figaro Eric Akopian, young founder of the association. To date, the operation has already attracted more than 1000 people on the page Facebook of Clean My Creeks. Every effort has been made to make the action fun and festive. "Everyone loves this saga," says the organizer, who hopes to gather the most people possible. In addition to the tons of plastic that will be on the path of participants, there will also be "bonus items" arranged by the association, which may change the outcome of the "competition green". Some waste will yield more points than others. In sum, each will have the same magical power: to act in favour of the environment.

Will raise

It's been more than two years that Eric Akopian, student in faculty of sports, "joined the useful to the pleasant," as he says. "I'm young, I have energy, so I told myself that I was going to do my hiking in me dropping and picking up waste." From 2017, thanks to her association and to the various mobilisations collectives, more than twenty tons of junk were collected. "We are quite proud," says the founder of the collective. The great majority of it is plastic and cigarette butts. These are donated to an association to be recycled afterwards. In regards to the plastic, the collective partners with various projects that use it then as a raw material. For the moment, these are only prototypes, scale-t-it. Large amounts of debris or glass bottles are also collected and placed in bags before being thrown in recycling bins. An action which clearly goes in the direction of the text supported by the government at the beginning of the summer and expected to be adopted in the beginning of 2020, which also aims to reduce waste and improve recycling.

If Eric Akopian is modest, it can display: from action to action, the project Clean My Coves takes on added significance. This September 26, the association will receive Awards including the Talent Phocaeans, awarded by the City of Marseille. A reward that will allow him to win notoriety, and to go further in its environmental challenge. "It has already expanded a little our action, in particular to the Prado beach and may soon be on the Old Port," says Eric Akopian.

The distinctions do not make him lose sight of his main objective: to clean up the creeks and raising the awareness of the people to the preservation of the environment. "We've already had massive actions, but then, it beats the record," says he at last. The association, ubiquitous on social networks, and intends to continue its action and to continue to attract the most people possible.
