Work more to earn more, the return! According to data published by the Acoss, via its network of Urssaf offices that collect contributions in the enterprises, some 246 million hours of overtime were reported in the second quarter, 17 more than between January and march. "The number and the evolution between the two quarters are of the same order of magnitude in 2018", says the Acoss, confirming the number of hours that sup has not exploded over the following six months.

Emmanuel Macron announced, last December 12 in response to the crisis of the "yellow vests", that the revenue overtime would be exempt from tax and employee contributions, effective 1 January. And this redistribution of purchasing power and rely (in part) in service the device popular initiated in 2007 by Nicolas Sarkozy, but removed in 2012 by François Hollande.

Not less than 7.2 million workers, or 40 per cent of employees paid over the period, have resulted overtime reported in the second quarter: 34 average per employee in three months, at 15,60 euros per hour. Since the beginning of the year, the exemption amount social reached 835 million, which represented a gain of 60 euros per employee between march and June. An amount, more important in the sectors of health, transport or construction, which decreases with the size of the company, ranging from 72 euros over three months for companies of fewer than 10 persons at 31 euros for one with a workforce of over 2000 people.
