The companies affected by this tax of 3% will be those that perform more than 750 million euros of turnover in the world and 25 million on the French soil. Only companies offering online advertising, the sale of goods or activities of platforms for intermediation, will be covered.
According to the firm legal and tax Taj, this are 26 companies in the territory that meet these criteria and who will have to pay this tax, retroactive to January 1, 2019. There are of course the giants who lend their initials to the acronym Gafa, i.e. Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple, but also Ebay, Rakuten, Wish, Zalando or even Microsoft and Twitter. For the year 2019, it is expected that the tax Gafa reported 400 million euros to the coffers of the State, to believe in the tenant of Bercy. And the figure could reach 650 million by 2021.
