A truck carrying a mechanical shovel hit the overpass Thursday morning on Highway 15 North under the Highway 132 West ramp, causing its equipment to fall onto the service road.

The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. at Boulevard Rome.

The truck, for a still unknown reason, hit the overpass before dropping the heavy equipment it was carrying.

The Route 132 ramp for Highway 10 East reopened an hour after the accident, but Highway 15 North and the ramp for the Rome Boulevard entrance were still closed around 11 a.m.
