A vehicle was on the night of Sunday to Monday the target of a suspicious fire in the borough of Montreal-North.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was notified around 10:50 p.m. of the burning van-type vehicle located on Désy Avenue, not far from Vendée Street. When the police arrived, the blaze was already under control by the Montreal Fire Department.

"According to initial information, a suspect was seen setting fire to the vehicle, and accelerant was used," said SPVM spokeswoman Caroline Chèvrefils. No incendiary objects were found at the scene and no arrests were made.

Investigators will move on site to analyze the scene and try to determine the causes and the exact circumstances surrounding this suspicious fire.
