Veteran Joe Pavelski will stay with the Dallas Stars for one more year under a contract extension that will pay him at least $3.5 million, the team announced Sunday.

The 38-year-old forward could add $2 million in performance bonuses.

"I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue to be a member of the Stars organization," Pavelski said in a statement. Sarah, Nate and I have loved being part of this team and the Dallas and Fort Worth community for the past four years. We have an incredible group of players in this locker room, and I'm excited to continue working with my teammates towards our goal of winning the Stanley Cup."

Pavelski is currently playing his fourth season with the Stars, having so far amassed 12 goals and 37 points in 28 games while posting a differential of 23. In career with the San Jose Sharks and the Stars, he totaled 433 goals and 961 points in 1206 games.
